The Most Valuable Investment Project of Industrial Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction Award was presented to Finnish Wetend Technologies Ltd. in Beijing at 2009 China International Industry's Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Scientific and Technological Innovation Conference.

The award was presented to Wetend Technologies Ltd for the remarkable savings in energy and fresh water consumption as well as reduced carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions that have been achieved with TrumpJet Flash Mixing applications in paper and board mills.

The conference was organized to evaluate, present, put into effect and also develop science and technology development in energy saving and pollution reduction of industry in China. The aim was also to improve and develop new innovations in energy saving, emission reduction and to improve competitiveness of industry with environmental technologies.

Director, Mr. Pekka Kotila of Wetend Technologies Ltd., and Ms. Zhang Min, General Manager of Wetend Technologies Ltd Beijing Representing Office (in the picture) received the award in Beijing May 20th 2009 at the awarding ceremony. Totally 20 enterprises were awarded.

The organizing group and selection committee presented authority and expertise of Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Financing, Ministry of Industrial & Information, State Development & Reform Committee, State Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction Committee and China Environmental News.

Environmental benefits of TrumpJet technology The significance of Wetend Technologies’ patented TrumpJet technology is that it flash mixes additives and chemicals into very high-volume process flows more efficiently and without any need for dilution water. Thus the use of fresh or circulated process water is completely eliminated resulting to considerable energy saving together with reduction in mill CO2 emissions.

To date, Wetend Technologies has supplied more than 250 TrumpJet systems to 20 countries in Europe, the USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and China. Altogether these installations save approximately 35 million cubic meters of fresh water annually. The corresponding energy saving is 1.6 Million MWh, which in turn reduces CO2 emissions more than 1 million tons per annum. The saved energy corresponds about 800.000 barrels of oil. TrumpJet technology also reduces the consumption of chemicals and improves the quality of end product of paper and board mills.

Wetend Technologies Ltd was awarded by the state of Peoples Republic if China with a national “Golden Bridge Award” at 2008 for technology and environmental results.
